Join Greenbelt Staff, Volunteers for Earth Day Events
While Greenbelt thinks of every day as “Earth Day,” staff and volunteers will be participating in a number of scheduled events throughout Essex County as we mark the 49th anniversary of what is called the beginning of the modern environmental movement.
Boxford and Topsfield are both hosting community Earth Day events.
The Topsfield Garden Club sponsors the Grow Spring EXPO! on April 13 from 10am – 3pm at the Town Common, Gould Barn, Emerson Center and The Commons. The event will have something for everyone including crafts, gardening tips, food, animals and more.
Boxford celebrates Earth Day on April 27 from 11am – 3pm. Recyclable litter picked up around town can be dropped off at the Recycling Center behind Town Hall, while exhibitors will share conservation tips, beekeeping and gardening advice.
Earth Day will be celebrated in Merrimac on April 27 from 10am – 2pm at the Town Library, while Rockport also celebrates on April 27 with clean-ups at Old Garden Beach, the Atlantic Path, Cape Hedge Beach, and Sandpiper Overlook.
At the Rockport Community House from 9am – 1pm, 58 Broadway, earth-friendly tips will be shared, local art made from debris exhibited, and nature talks will discuss eels, bees and flowers.
Newburyport will feature a major Green Expo with exhibits and presentations on reducing your impact on the environment, creating a healthier home and why “going green” can actually be good for your wallet!
Making sustainable choices to protect the environment and avoid compromising the quality of life for our children and their children is a major theme of the Greater Newburyport Green Expo on April 11 from 4pm – 8pm at Nock Middle School.
