Winter Wildflower ID Walk
with Andrew Prazar

Sunday, December 15th
3:00 - 4:30 pm
Rough Meadows Wildlife Sanctuary

By mid-November, the flowers of late summer and fall have gone to seed. While not nearly as colorful as their summer incarnations, they hold their own wild beauty. These seeds not only insure the next generation of plants, but also provide birds with a vital food source during the lean winter months and the stems that support them often hold overwintering insect larvae. Join us for a walk through the fields of Rough Meadows as we learn to identify these plants by their winter seed heads and investigate their importance to our local animals.

This hike will be a short walk, approximately a mile, led by Andrew Prazar, an environmental educator.

No dogs are allowed at Rough Meadows, so please leave your animals at home.
