Adult Osprey in flight

Welcome back for another year of Osprey watching on Greenbelt’s webcam, set up on an active nesting platform in Gloucester, Massachusetts. The webcam was installed today - March 20, and we hope to have the webcam livestreaming on our website soon. Please stay tuned.

I am confident that Annie and Squam are on route back to their nest site, each charting their separate course. We have not seen them yet. We do not know where they go for the winter, only that they are not together once they leave the nest at the end of the breeding season. We hope they had a safe and uneventful winter. When they do return, we usually see Annie first, followed with days by Squam.

We are on the cusp of what will undoubtedly be another exciting nesting season. I will use this blog to comment on the activity of Annie and Squam, but I will also add information about what is happening with Osprey across our region. I look forward to sharing all of this with all our faithful followers in the months ahead. For now we wait for their return.
