Hunting Policy     Volunteer Policy​​​​​​​

Greenbelt reserves the right to photograph or video visitors and program participants at our properties, either through our designated photographers and videographers or outside media. These images may be used for promotional purposes in future publications, marketing materials, and media communications. By visiting Greenbelt properties or participating in our programs and events, you consent to the capture and use of your image for these purposes. Thank you for your understanding.

Please be thoughtful and follow these few guidelines:

  • Use between sunrise and sunset only

  • Carry out what you carry in

  • Clean up after your dog

  • Other activities may be permitted but require that you first contact the Greenbelt office for permission

Activities not permitted on Greenbelt properties:

  • Fires

  • Dumping

  • Use of motorized vehicles

  • Target shooting

  • Hunting without written permission

  • Trespassing from sunset to sunrise

Except as noted on our property pages, yes. We ask that all owners follow these guidelines:

  • Carry a leash
  • Leash aggressive dogs
  • Control excessive noise
  • Do not leave dogs unattended
  • Pick up and dispose of dog waste
  • Prevent digging and destructive behavior

Hunting is allowed with written permission on some Greenbelt land for white-tailed deer, waterfowl, and certain other species. Hunting is allowed without written permission on a few Greenbelt properties as a result of conservation restrictions (easements) held by the Mass. Division of Fisheries and Wildlife.

Camping is not allowed on Greenbelt properties. All Greenbelt properties are open sunrise to sunset.

Art in the Barn is held the second weekend of June each year. It is a juried exhibit and sale benefiting Greenbelt, with 50 percent of sales going directly toward our mission of land conservation.

Yes, Greenbelt is committed to providing a secure environment for financial transactions. We have partnered with Stripe, a leading payment processor, to handle our online donations. Stripe is certified as a PCI Service Provider Level 1, the highest level of certification in the payments industry. This ensures that your payment information is handled with the utmost security.

Our website uses HTTPS for secure connections, and all payment transactions are encrypted using TLS (SSL). Stripe also employs advanced security measures such as encryption of card data with AES-256 and multi-factor authentication to protect sensitive information.
