Preserving Salisbury Woods

“So much of our vacant land is being developed and driving out the wildlife. I hated to see that happen. I sought out Greenbelt as a way to preserve the woodlands which have been dear to me since childhood.”

Anne Jones grew up in Salisbury surrounded by woodlands home to native wildlife and a babbling brook.  She’s since moved out of the area, but she reached out to Greenbelt hoping to find a way to conserve these woods.

Bordering both the well-used Ghost Trail bike and walking path, and by a new section of the Border-to-Boston Rail trail, preserving this land was important for ensuring a scenic buffer between the trails and more developed areas.

Greenbelt and Mrs. Jones agreed on a below-market price sale that could be accomplished in a relatively short period of time.
