Prior to English settlement, Indigenous People known as the Pawtucket lived in the area where they fished, hunted and trapped game.
The land, when owned by the Dodge family in the 1800s, was home to a farm and orchard.
Now, the 20-acre Camp Cedar Mill is run by the YMCA every summer here with a swimming pool, sports fields, and rustic log cabins.
Batchelder Brook, which runs through the property, is stocked with trout by Mass. Wildlife
The Town of Rowley acquired this property in 2014 from the Girl Scouts, who ran a camp there, and Greenbelt acquired a Conservation Restriction in 2019.
