65-acre Crystal Gorge is part of the larger 300 acre Crystal Lake Conservation Area. Throughout the gorge are numerous small streams, wetlands and vernal pools that weave between rocky ledges. This dramatic landscape is adjacent to recently conserved Greenbelt watershed land. This moderate 2-3 mile hike will include the city-owned Crystal Gorge and Greenbelt’s trail extension. Our guides will be Rachel Horgan, Greenbelt Director of Development and Community Engagement, and landowner Ken Meserve.

Ken has a Conservation Restriction (CR) on his land through Greenbelt, which led to the creation of Greenbelt’s trail extension.
