Let’s Hike Haverhill: Season Finale at Whittier Birthplace
Saturday, December 6, 2025
12:00 PM - 2:30 PM
305 Whittier Rd, Haverhill, MA 01830 - https://maps.app.goo.gl/nacPvfP4UX7mcGdVA

Haverhill’s Whittier Birthplace, considered one of the city’s “cultural treasures,” preserves the landscape, house, and buildings much as they were during poet John Greenleaf Whittier’s time living here from 1807 to 1836. This 69-acre site features the Freeman Memorial Trail, which honors Whittier’s work. After enjoying a walk along the trail and learning about a proposed extension connecting the Birthplace to Brandy Brow Road, you can unwind in the barn with complimentary snacks. You also have the option to tour the Birthplace itself, with a suggested donation of $10. All proceeds support the Whittier Birthplace, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Our knowledgeable guides are Tom Phaneuf, a Whittier Birthplace Trustee, and Rob Moore, from Haverhill Conservation.

Registration for this event starts on 10/24/25 at 12:00 AM.
