**WEATHER ROUTE UPDATE: RIDE IS CANCELED, SATURDAY 9/16
We've been carefully watching several weather forecast sources and, with rider and volunteer safety in mind, we've decided not to hold Tour de Greenbelt on Saturday.
However, in the hopes that you will still ride and enjoy that Tour de Greenbelt magic that we know many of you look forward to every year, we are offering the option to ride your route anytime between Monday, Sept. 18 and Sunday, Sept. 24!
We are working on a number of perks for riding next week, so stay tuned for those announcements!
See your rider email from Jane (Thurs. 4:32 pm) for more details.
**ROUTE UPDATES:
Rt 22/Western Ave in Essex: Rolling detours as the town completes a paving project. Take Candlewood Rd. to Rt 133 to avoid the whole area or carefully follow the posted detour signs. Should not add significant mileage to avoid it! Use your best judgment, please. (9/20/23)
New England Biolabs construction starting Sunday, 9/17. All road routes on Ride with GPS have been updated with a re-route to avoid the Biolabs campus. GPX files have been
updated as well. Please re-download the files to get the newest routes!
Gravel Grinders, no change as of Friday, 9/15, 4:45 pm. Please keep an eye out for downed trees and branches from the storm, though.
A big thank you to Biolabs for working closely with staff to make sure riders pass through safely!

Whether a weekend recreational rider, seasoned cyclist or one seeking a more adventurous course, Greenbelt’s annual Tour de Greenbelt offers a course to fit all levels of experience. All while riding through the beautiful landscapes of Essex County and benefiting local land conservation.
Tour de Greenbelt, on September 16, 2023, offers untimed routes that can be enjoyed at a rider’s own pace-- a half-century (50 miles) and a recreational route (25 miles) on paved roads, and two Gravel Grinder options with off-road excursions into protected forests and reservations. The ride begins at 9:00 am at Allyn Cox Reservation, 82 Eastern Ave., Essex, MA.
Riders will enjoy cycling past more than 50 of Greenbelt’s protected properties, venturing into state forests, traversing farmland, then returning to Cox Reservation for food and live music under the Big Tent.
Make sure to order your specialty jersey by August 3rd for delivery before the ride! All orders after August 3 will be mailed to you after the event.
Special thanks to our Presenting Sponsor Institution for Savings!
This year's Tour de Greenbelt will be held on September 16. Register for the event here.
