Let’s Hike Haverhill: Season Finale at Whittier Birthplace
Saturday, December 6, 2025
12:00 PM - 2 PM
305 Whittier Rd, Haverhill, MA 01830 - https://maps.app.goo.gl/nacPvfP4UX7mcGdVA
One of Haverhill’s “Cultural Treasures”, the Whittier Birthplace landscape, house and other buildings is substantially the same as when poet John Greenbleaf Whittier lived here between 1807-1836. This 69 acre site is home to the Freeman Memorial Trail which celebrates the work of Whittier. After walking the trail and hearing about a proposed trail extension from the Birthplace to Brandy Brow Rd, you can relax in the barn for complimentary snacks and also choose to tour the birthplace. Suggested donation for the tour is $10. This benefits the Whittier Birthplace which is a non-profit 501(c)(3). Our guides are Tom Phaneuf, Whittier Birthplace Trustee and Rob Moore, Haverhill Conservation.
