Outdoor Adventure Team

Greenbelt’s Outdoor Adventure Team (GOATs) was established in late 2015 with the goal of building a vibrant community of enthusiastic volunteers to support and enrich our expanding calendar of outdoor activities and events.

Greenbelt Outdoor Adventure Team

Generally, Greenbelt GOAT members have an outdoor interest to share, suggest speakers or events ideas, or identify expert “leaders” or instructors to help us round out a diverse outdoor activities calendar.

We offer at least one-weekend hike, and one-weekday hike each month. GOAT members support these hikes to help keep track of participants, or even lead if they know the property really well.

Time Commitment

The time commitment varies according to your schedule and areas of interest. We ask that you try to participate in at least two activities or events per year.

Training & Orientation

We will work closely with individuals or groups interested in joining Greenbelt’s Outdoor Adventure Team. Before each assignment, we’ll provide clear preparation, outlining expectations and the time frame involved.
