On September 1, Chris LaPointe assumed the role of President at Greenbelt, succeeding Kate Bowditch, who retired after six impactful years. Chris, a respected leader in land conservation, has devoted his career to safeguarding Essex County’s natural habitats, working farms, and scenic landscapes.

Since joining Greenbelt in 2015 as Director of Conservation, Chris LaPointe has helped protect more than 6,200 acres of land, representing 86 percent of all land conserved in Essex County during this period.
