Greenbelt’s Outdoor Adventure Team (GOATs) started in late 2015, with the intent of creating a community of energetic volunteers who would support our growing calendar of outdoor
activities and events. The group currently has a dozen active members, and they participate as their schedule allows.
Generally, our GOAT members have an outdoor interest to share, suggest speakers or events ideas, or identify expert “leaders” or instructors to help us round out a diverse outdoor
activities calendar. We offer at least one-weekend hike, and one-weekday hike each month. GOAT members support these hikes to help keep track of participants, or even lead if they know
the property really well.
Time Commitment:
The time commitment varies according to your schedule and areas of interest. We ask that you try to participate in at least two activities or events per year.
Training & Orientation:
Greenbelt will spend time with individuals or groups of people interested in volunteering as part of the Outdoor Adventure Team. We will prepare you in advance of each assignment,
letting you know what is expected, and the time frame involved.
